Fall 2010 Study Opportunities

Westminster Book Club Set to Start Reading in September!!

This fall the newly established Westminster Book Club will offer a study of the great spiritual classic; The Confessions. Written by the early church father, Saint Augustine, “this classic autobiography tells the story of a man who journeyed from sin to sainthood.” This new book club will begin on Tuesday, September 14 at 10:00 a.m. and will run weekly throughout the fall. We will plan to read only approximately twenty pages a week and gather together to discuss over coffee and light refreshments. Books are available in the church office for $5. Please contact Dr. Leonard for more information.

3. The Practice of Lectio Divina – Praying the Scriptures

Opportunities for Youth and Children will be available. There will also be a nursery. Join us as we enjoy good food, share in Christian fellowship, and grow in our faith. Contact church office by September 1 to sign up!

Youth

Middlers - “Dare to Be a Daniel” - Come join your fellow middlers on a journey learning to be like Daniel in the Bible – a light for Christ at school and home. This study will feature a DVD curriculum put out by the Billy Graham association.

Senior Highs – Sometimes life is heavy and we need some JOY! Come and study the book of Philippians, where the apostle Paul shares secrets to joy, including seeking and trusting Christ, forgetting the past and looking to God’s future for you, and letting God use you even in difficult circumstances. We will have Bible study and lots of discussion as we grow together!

Children

Children’s Program (K– 5^th grade) Bible stories, games, crafts, & skits with lots of fun and learning for our children!

Childcare (Birth through pre-K) Love and care in our nursery; stories and snacks, as appropriate!

Danny Sharpe and Omar Picado will be here Wednesday night, September 15 to share with us firsthand the continued work of Christ in some of the poorest cities of Nicaragua. You will be touched by the depth of their love for Christ, for the people of Nicaragua, and for you. Don’t miss this wonderfully inspiring evening of fellowship and sharing.

Congregational Picnic at Camp Fellowship!

Sunday, September 19... 3:00 - 7:00 p.m.

We will plan to eat around 6:00 p.m. Please bring your favorite covered dish as well as drinks. The church will provide chicken fingers, water and ice. Bring chairs or blankets and if you have a boat, that will be welcome also. Games such as volleyball, horse shoes, etc. will be available for the youngsters. There will also be special music and singing. Bring your family and friends and join us for an afternoon of fun and fellowship!
