A Special Word of Thanks from the Pastor
Debbie, Nicholas, William, and I would like to sincerely thank the members of this congregation for your support and for the gracious acknowledgment of the completion of my doctoral degree. We are humbled by your love for us. We look forward to hanging the picture of the church and putting the crystal Celtic cross in places where we will see them daily. We are also excited about the trip you are sending us on to Greenville. The boys in particular look forward to going to a baseball game, and we are looking forward to a wonderful meal. You have gone above and beyond your call to love our family and we thank you!

Greetings from your Evangelism Team
Did you know that you can play a vital role in the evangelism process? In an effort to see how we can all have a part in furthering God’s Kingdom, your Evangelism Ministry Team would like to offer a few ideas for you to purposefully think about during the upcoming weeks.
First, we challenge you to pray intentionally for someone (either an individual or family) who is in need of the blessing of Jesus. This could be someone you work with, a member of your own family, or even someone in the church who hasn’t been able to attend regularly.
Second, look for an opportunity to simply share a little of your faith journey/story with someone. By planting the seeds of salvation, God can use you and will water those seeds through His Holy Spirit in His time.
Third, invite someone to attend Westminster with you to see the ministry of Jesus Christ work. We can all be “intentionally invitational.”
Beginning with the April newsletter, your Evangelism Team will be contributing a column entitled “Diamonds on Our Doorstep.” This article will feature a member of our congregation and his/her faith journey so that we can all be reminded of the power of Jesus in our midst. If you would like to share your faith story or journey or for more information, please contact the Evangelism Team co-chairs: Karla Cox or Van Taylor.

Heartfelt thanks!
There is no way to sufficiently thank the members of Westminster Presbyterian Church who supported my family and me during the sickness and death of my mother, “Maggie” Whiting!
Your outpouring of prayers, care, cards, visits, flowers, calls, e-mails and food is a tremendous testament to our church’s deep and abiding love for one another. Mother was, in fact, very moved by everyone’s generosity. As she lay in the hospital bed in our home, Mother often expressed how grateful she was for the care shown and she noted how fortunate we are to be a part of such a loving church. She is correct!
Although Mother didn’t attend our church with any degree of regularity, she enjoyed the kinships and friendships she acquired through Westminster. And for the record, Mother spoke very highly of our wonderful pastor, Chris Leonard (even if they couldn’t quite agree on the difference between “dead” and “dying!”)
And so, on behalf of Wendy, Shelley, Katie and my brother Charlie, thank you all for everything! We have been blessed through your ministry of caring.
Richard Whiting

Crown Financial Bible Studies to be Offered this Fall at WPC
This study is a ten week study of what Scripture teaches about money and possessions. Those who have gone through this study have confirmed that marriages are strengthened and individuals are finding their way out of debt. They are also becoming consistent savers, generous givers, and prudent consumers. Most importantly, people are entering into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ as they learn to apply His Word. Groups meet for an hour and a half every Sunday afternoon for ten weeks and meetings include Scripture memorization and interactive discussions.
