The Clerk's Corner
At our monthly meetings the session answers, as time permits, one question from a list of questions the Fellowship of Presbyterians asks us to answer, as somewhat of a self exam of how we are reaching out as a missional church. At the November meeting we came up with answers very quickly, faster than we could write them down. Even though it is not an all inclusive list, we wanted to share it with our members. Our church family is a thriving Christian force in this community and is making a big difference in the lives of a lot of people. Below is our latest question:
In what ways is your congregation seeking the welfare of the “city” (community) to which we are called?
Through our following ministries: Habitat, for Humanity, Good News Club, Prison Ministries, Soup Kitchen, Food Bank, United Ministries, Homeless Shelter, Magnolia Manor/Ashley House, Trunk or Treat, Live After Five, Adopt a Highway, New Faith Presbyterian Church, Blood Drive, VBS emphasis, College Ministry, Relay for Life, Scouts, Youth Outreach, Alpha Group, Presbyterian Home Outreach, World Day of Prayer, Lenten Services, Community Bible Study, Hooks and Needles, Easter Eggstravaganza.
I am sure you can add many more ministries or activities. As we live out our call to be a missional church, may God receive the Glory.
