Chris Leonard      John White         Larry Duncan       Dr. Joe Gettys

Westminster Presbyterian Church was organized on February 22, 1981 by The Reverend Dr. Joseph Gettys, founding minister, with 89 charter members. The original home for the church was the library of Cambridge Academy. In September of 1982, the congregation moved to a building at the present site at 2330 Cokesbury Road. The continued growth of the church family has led to several building expansion programs, and the beautiful sanctuary in which we now worship in was completed in 1994. The picture above shows all of our past ministers.

We are a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (USA), and are a part of the Trinity Presbytery. Trinity Presbytery includes more than 70 churches in the central and western portion of South Carolina. Although each of these churches has its own unique ministry and governing body, these churches also work together to meet needs which could not be effectively met by any one congregation.

Westminster Presbyterian has a long standing ministry with the Greenwood Chapter of Habitat for Humanity. Through the Trinity Presbytery, we also reach out to the migrant workers in the Batesburg, SC area, college students at USC, and residents of the Thornwell Home for Children in Clinton, SC.
