YOUTH—YOUTH—YOUTH!!!
A Word from Pastor Debby…
Dear Youth and Families,
How many of you have ever had the flu, been really sick, got injured playing sports, or even broken a bone? I’ll bet that many of you have. Not fun, is it? Did it feel strange to have your body feel weak and not able to do what you normally can? I guess I’ve felt a little weak myself lately, having surgery and then this knee which is still recuperating and not cooperating yet. Did you know that the Lord said something surprising about when we feel weak? The apostle Paul had some serious health problem – maybe something wrong with his eyes. Paul kept praying for the Lord to take the problem away, but the Lord didn’t heal him, although Paul had seen God heal other people through Paul’s prayers. Instead, the Lord said to Paul, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Paul thought about it and then said, “That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” (II Corinthians 12:9a, 10).
We don’t always have to come to God bringing our strengths. We can bring our weaknesses, too. And sometimes, the Lord gets the greatest glory by using us right through our weaknesses. Maybe He can still use me, even if I have to sit down a lot and can’t rush around. He can use you, too! Let God’s strength be made perfect even in your weakness, as you bring your weakness to Him.
Love you always! Happy February! Pastor Debby
